What is CBD?
The hemp plant, or Cannabis sativa, contains a host of compounds called cannabinoids. CBD, or cannabidiol, is one such cannabinoid contained in hemp and cannabis. Hemp-derived CBD oil is non-psychotropic and does not get you high when you consume it. That’s because hemp cannabidiol contains 0.3% or less THC content.
What Are Benefits of CBD?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is the most predominant cannabinoid in hemp and has many nutritive properties. CBD can promote a sense of wellbeing, prepare you for relaxation, soothe physical discomforts, and has even been found to influence the endocannabinoid system’s production of anandamide in the body (famously known as the “bliss molecule”).
- Improved relaxation to prepare for sleep, including a reported better quality and duration of sleep.
- Boosted capability to tackle life’s everyday obstacles, making it easier to roll with the punches life gives out without being so heavily affected by it.
- Maximized workout recovery period. Endurance and performance athletes like “Sherpa” John Lacroix of the Human Potential Running Series, MMA fighters Andrew Leone and Tiffany “Time Bomb” Van Soest, and celebrity trainer Alec Penix regularly talk about how CBD can offer support to maximize the recovery period, including soothing any aches and pains.
How can I tell if it's High-Quality CBD?
Smart CBD's hemp products are full-spectrum extracts that preserve hundreds of cannabinoids, terpenes, phytonutrients, antioxidants, and other nutrients present in the hemp plant. We preserve the full botanical profile of the hemp plant in all our products through supercritical CO2 fluid extraction, a common technique for food products like coffee and hops because it is safe and allows delicate organic compounds to be preserved in full. The process ensures that our CBD products retain the full entourage of hemp’s nutritive qualities.
We exclusively provide the only global brand to post independent laboratory test results online and follow a strict pharmaceutical-grade testing process. Our testing includes two different labs. We test for over 300 chemicals, including pesticides, residual solvents, and heavy metals; as well as for any microbiological contaminants. Our testing analysis is available to anyone on request via our website.
WHAT IS HEMP OIL?
CBD hemp oil is extracted from industrial hemp plants. The plants used are specially bred to contain high concentrations of naturally occurring cannabidiol (CBD). Our product contains 18% CBD (slight seasonal variations may occur), which means that 10 ml or 10g (0.34 fl.oz) contains 1,800mg of CBD.
Hemp Oil is NOT INTOXICATING
You CANNOT get ‘high’ or intoxicated by consuming CBD hemp oil or any whole, raw natural product from industrial hemp plants. Unlike medical marijuana, hemp does not contain the psychoactive properties of THC. Additionally, scientific research has documented that CBD is actually anti-psychoactive.
Does CBD Work Best if Used Constistently or As-Needed?
Everyone is different, but consistent use as part of daily health and wellness regimen helps maintain a sustained level of CBD in your system, providing effective support for a variety of health concerns including pain, mood enhancement, and insomnia.
Is CBD Safe to Use with My Regular Medications??
CBD may interact with some prescriptions and supplements. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have concerns. Do not take if you are pregnant or nursing.
Your Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
We are hard-wired with a system of cannabinoid receptors throughout our brains and bodies. When these receptors are activated, they enable two-way communication between body systems; something previously thought to be impossible.
The ECS is a biological system that’s made up of neurotransmitter receptors, enzymes, ligands, and transport molecules. Its job is to essentially act as a “master regulator” for the body, and can directly impact other systems. A regulated, balanced ECS is important to overall health.
And here’s why this matters: the nutritive properties of CBD benefit from something known as “The Entourage Effect.” When this phenomenon occurs, the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids found in hemp CBD oil all come together well, with the sum of the parts being greater than the whole.
For reference, our full-spectrum hemp CBD extract contains over 120 cannabinoids and more than 500 phytonutrients in addition to antioxidants, flavonoids, and terpenes. These nutritive properties are beneficial to the body and can impact the ECS in a good way.
